ripple theatre co are offering a unique opportunity for a film student or emerging film maker who would perhaps be interested in collaborating with us to create a short documentary film.
We are currently in the Research and Development stage of our current project Hidden Stories: Hidden Places. In 2017 we were commissioned to create an audio trail of the Old Jewish Cemetery on Plymouth Hoe for The Plymouth Synagogue. This was included in the 2016 Plymouth History Festival and repeated in September for the Plymouth Art Weekender. Due to the success of this project we secured funding from Feast, Exeter City Council and Arts Council England to expand our project to include Exeter Jewish Cemetery and The Falmouth Jewish Cemetery and Dissenters Burying Ground.
We are now in the process of writing and recording the audios, editing for which will be completed in August. We have some strict deadlines we must adhere to for which you must be confident you can too. We are holding two public events at the Exeter & Falmouth sites in September of this year which we require to be filmed. Also, for you to conduct any relevant filming/interviews in connection to our work. Our intention is to create a small documentary style film that we can use in our report to the Arts Council and which can also be used to support an application for the next stage of our project. We anticipate film will play a more integral role in the next stage and there is potential for the successful applicant to be a collaborator with us.
If interested you can contact us in the first instance via our Contact page. Please give details about yourself, including contact details and links to any relevant examples of your work.
There is a fee available for this initial opportunity.
